August 7, 2001 was a very special day for Mrs Ingrid Oeder from Germany, guest of the KERMODE BEAR FISHING LODGE, as she caught the biggest Chinook ever that was released again to spawn successfully .

 This fish is the unofficial "Catch & Release" world record and weight according to the DFO guidelines 99 lbs. Taxidermist Eric Gander from Vancouver created a replica of this huge fish according to the measurements taken before the fish was released . The replica is displayed in Terrace and accessible to the public.
